LiPo batteries require very specific handling & misuse is not covered under warranty
- Do not leave a fully charged battery sitting longer than 2 days without using it or discharging back to sitting/storage voltage 11.4v
- Do not leave a discharged battery sitting longer than 2 days without charging it to the sitting/storage voltage 11.4v
- Always start each session with a freshly, fully charged battery
- Charge to full even if you only used it a little bit the time before
- The final stage of the charging cycle balances the voltage in the internal cells; using it without fully charging/balancing the battery may permanently damage it. If you are not going to use it in the next two days - only charge to the sitting/storage voltage and then just before use, charge all the way to full. 👍
How to charge, use, and store the 11.1v LiPo battery. It’s important to follow all of the instructions below – but the list is not complete. Find more info in the articles in this help center.
1. Always charge to full before each use INCLUDING the first charge out of the box12.6v.
2. Do not leave the battery plugged into the charger after it reaches a full charge.
3. Always stop to recharge before the voltage drops to 9.6v (approx. five 90 second play sessions) to avoid over discharging.
4. Do not leave the battery plugged into the drive unit when not in use.
5. Do not leave the battery fully charged or discharged longer than 2 days without using it.
6. After use, only recharge to the sitting/storage voltage 11.4v and then fully charge just before use.
7. Long term storage voltage should be11.4v - and every three months - charge to full & discharge to 11.4v before continuing storage.
8. Always charge and store the battery inside a charging bag.
Download the 5.5x7 Charging Card to print and keep near your charger.
CAUTION: The battery should always be allowed to come to room-temperature before charging. Charging a hot or cold battery might delay charging or damage the battery. For best results, charge the battery at temperatures between 50º and 80ºF (10º-30ºC).
