The 14.8v Home Plus battery - Minimum, Maximum, Storage, & Replacement voltages
The Plus battery the nominal charge is 14.8 volts
- 16.8v is the maximum capacity - this number slowly declines over time - this is normal
- 12.8v is the minimum the voltage - it should not be allowed to drop below this
- 14.8v is the sitting, or storage voltage. This should be the voltage if it won't be used within 3 days
- If you store the battery long term - bring the battery out of storage every 3 months to charge fully and discharge back to storage voltage to continue storing.
- 13.44v is 80% of the original capacity. Replace your battery once the maximum capacity drops 80% - it has reached the end of its lifespan.
CAUTION: The battery should always be allowed to come to room-temperature before charging. Charging a hot or cold battery might delay charging or damage the battery. For best results, charge the battery at temperatures between 50º and 80ºF (10º-30ºC).
